M350 is a medium-plasticity clay body with a smooth, slick feel on the wheel, producing a fair amount of slip while throwing. It tends to dry reliably for smaller work, but like most fine-grained clays, larger forms require extra care during the drying stage—especially pieces such as plates, shallow bowls, or sculptural forms. The key is to prioritize consistent, even drying rather than rushing the process. If certain areas begin drying faster than others, slow those sections down or cover the whole piece to balance moisture loss.
When attaching handles or other additions, use a thicker slip with minimal water content and make sure to apply firm pressure with some side-to-side movement to create a strong bond.
For functional pottery, M350 performs best when fired to Cone 6.
